Member and committee details are copied from public pages of the Connecticut House of Representatives (cga.ct.gov/hco) and the Connecticut State Senate (cga.ct.gov/sco), through Open States people data (CC0); member counts checked against official seat counts. Each record shows its source address and copy date. Open States data last updated October 29, 2026. Neither Connecticut Capitol Guide nor this information, as presented here, is endorsed by the Connecticut House of Representatives or the Connecticut State Senate. Registered lobbyists are on our sister site Connecticut Lobby Guide. District lookups use the U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder. Corrections are welcome by email.
Bills, votes and hearings
The bills each member sponsors (on member pages) come from Open States bulk data (monthly PostgreSQL dump 2026-10-public.pgdump). Open States provides its data under a public domain dedication unless otherwise noted; attribution is appreciated — thank you, Open States / Plural Policy. Member-by-member roll-call votes and meetings are not in this guide yet. Official bill text and votes are on the Connecticut General Assembly's own site, cga.ct.gov/hco, and are not copied.
Legislator portraits (187) are hosted here; see photo credits.
Rankings, map and topics
Effectiveness on member pages is our own count from Open States bill actions and sponsors, using the Fifty Domes effectiveness formula (the full rankings page is coming): each bill or joint resolution a member is principal author of in their own chamber earns 1 point for passing committee, 2 more for passing the chamber, 2 more for passing both chambers and 5 more for becoming law; bills carried in the other chamber earn half of 1 (committee), 2 (both chambers) and 5 (law). Points are divided by the average for the member's chamber and majority or minority party, so 1.00 is typical. Closest allies counts bills and joint resolutions on which both members are principal author or coauthor. These are counts of bill progress, not judgments of a member's work; member-by-member roll-call votes are not in our data, so attendance, party unity and vote agreement are not shown. District minimaps on member pages use U.S. Census Bureau 2024 state legislative district boundaries (public domain), simplified. Topics and industries are not in this guide yet; any we add will come from published rules, explained on the topics page. Weekly summaries will be counted from the same bill actions, meetings and roll calls once the session convenes.
